What is SSS Calamity Loan?
The SSS Calamity Loan Assistance Program or CLAP is a financial assistance given to SSS members who have been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Depending on the average of your monthly salary credit in the last 12 months, you may apply for a loan of up to ₱20,000.
You may apply for the CLAP from June 15, 2020 until September 14, 2020.
What are the SSS Calamity Loan Requirements
- You must be registered in SSS online portal to be able to apply for SSS Calamity Loan online.
- You must have at least 36 monthly contributions, 6 of which should be posted within the 12 months before the month of your application.
- You must be a resident of the Philippines which means your home or work address is within the Philippines.
- You must not have been granted any final benefit such as Total Permanent Disability or Retirement by the Social Security System.
- You must not have an outstanding balance in the SSS Loan Restructuring Program (LRP) and other Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP).
Proof of residence is no longer required to apply for the SSS Calamity Loan 2020 since the entire country has been placed under the state of calamity due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
And since the application of SSS Calamity Loan is done online, you don’t need to fill out the hard copy of the SSS Calamity Loan form anymore.
How to Apply for SSS Calamity Loan Online
Step 1: Register to My.SSS Online Portal
Follow these updated steps for SSS Online Registration 2020:
- Go to sss.gov.ph
- Click Member
- Click Not Yet Registered in My.SSS?
- Select the information that you want to use to register in SSS online.
- Fill out the Online Registration Form
- Check your email for the confirmation and activation of your SSS online registration. Click the link in the email to set your password.
- Enter the last 6 digits of your CRN or SSS number.
- Set your password by following the guidelines.
- Length must be 8-20 alphanumeric characters
- First character must be alphabetic
- No special characters
- Must be different from your username
After you have successfully set your SSS online password, you will automatically be logged in to your My.SSS online account.

Step 2: Check if you are eligible to apply
- Login to your SSS Online Account
- Check your SSS Contributions
- Check if you have existing LRP or CLAP loans.

- Go to SSS official website at sss.gov.ph
- Log in to your SSS online account using your SSS User ID and Password
- Under E-Services tab, click Apply for Calamity Loan

SSS Calamity Loan Interest Rate
For this particular Calamity Loan for Covid 2020, the SSS lessened the interest rate from 10% to 6% per annum.
SSS Calamity Loan Payment Terms
From the normal payment term of 24 months, the SSS extended it to 27 months, inclusive of a moratorium period of 3 months.
It means the Loan amortizations for COVID-19 calamity loans will begin in the fourth month from their respective approval dates.
- No advance interest will be charged for the said loan.
- A service fee of one percent (1%) of the loan amount will be charged and deducted from the loan proceeds.
- Loan payments not remitted on its due date will bear a one percent penalty per month.

I have an existing salary loan, can I apply for SSS calamity loan 2020?
Answer: Yes, you can still apply for the SSS Calamity Loan for Covid even if you have existing salary loan except for loans under LRP or Loan Restructuring Program. Your existing salary loan balance will not be deducted from your SSS calamity loan amount.

How long does it take before the loan amount is credited to enrolled bank?
- Ang crediting nito ay maaari po ninyong antabayan sa inyong SSS registered bank account sa loob ng 10 banking days mula sa date of approval ng inyong application na inyong matutunghayan sa pangalawang email / text confirmation na inyong matatanggap.
Nagapply po ako ng calamity loan noong July 27. Naapproved ng July 28. Bakit po hanggang ngayon wala pa din sa account ko?
- Ang delayed crediting ng loan proceeds ay bunsod ng high volume of applications para sa Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) na aming natanggap. Ang crediting nito ay maaari po ninyong antabayan sa inyong SSS registered bank account sa loob ng 10 banking days mula sa date of approval ng inyong application na inyong matutunghayan sa pangalawang email / text confirmation na inyong matatanggap.
- Ang inyong check ay maaari ninyong antabayanan sa inyong itinalagang mailing address sa inyong application sa loob ng 7-10 working days (if within NCR) o 10-15 working days (if outside NCR) depende sa inyong lokasyon.
- Paalala: Ang delivery ng check ay maaaring magkaroon ng delay depende sa implementasyon ng Community Quarantine sa inyong lokasyon.
I entered the wrong bank account number. How can I cancel my SSS calamity loan application?
- Nais po naming ipabatid na simula July 27, 2020, ang lahat ng member-borrowers na hindi nakatanggap ng kanilang loan proceeds para sa SSS Calamity/Salary Loan bunsod ng closed/invalid bank details ay automatic na makakansela oras na aming matanggap ang report hinggil sa unsuccessful crediting nito mula sa inyong registered bank. Mangyari lamang na hintayin ang SMS/text notification na aming ipapadala para dito.
- Habang naghihintay, aming iminumungkahi na i-update ang inyong registered bank account sa pamamagitan ng Bank Enrollment Module (BEM) upang sa gayon ay madali kayong makapag-apply muli oras na makansela ang inyong loan application.
Paano po mag-apply ng SSS calamity loan?
- Maaaring mag-apply ng Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) ang isang member basta’t umayon sa mga sumusunod na qualifying conditions:
- Kailangan na registered sa SSS website para sa online filing ng application;
- Nakapaghulog ng hindi bababa sa 36 monthly contributions, kung saan ang 6 dito ay dapat na naihulog sa loob ng 12 buwan bago ang date of application;
- Kailangan na residente ng ating bansa. Ang isang residente, para sa layunin ng CLAP, ay isang indibidwal na may home o work address sa loob ng Pilipinas;
- Hindi pa nakakatanggap ng final benefit, gaya ng Total Permanent Disability o Retirement;
- Kailangan na walang outstanding balance sa Loan Restructuring Program (LRP) at ibang Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP).
Nakapag-file na po ako ng calamity loan noong Aug 3, 2020. Granted na po pero blocked po yung ATM ko sa Landbank ano po ba dapat gawin, need ko po ng pera
- Sa pagkakataon na kayo ay qualified na mag avail pareho ng Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) at Salary Loan, kinakailangan ninyong unahin ang pag avail ng Salary Loan at antayin ang approval nito bago mag apply muli ng CLAP. Ito ay upang maiwasan ang automatic deduction ng short-term member loan, gaya ng CLAP, na isa sa mga terms and conditions ng aming Salary Loan Program.
Kapag nauna po i-file ang calamity loan bago salary loan, binabawas po ba talaga yung CLAP amount sa net proceeds ng SL? So ang kaltas po nito yung SL lang dahil paid na with interest yung CLAP? Di po ba dapat wala na interest yun bilang ni hindi po umabot sa deduction date and full payment nung CLAP?
- Base po sa terms and conditions ng Salary Loan renewal, kasama pong maibabawas bilang outstanding previous loan balance ang naunang naaprubahan na Calamity Loan.
Yung Calamity Loan ko nabayaran ko na nung nag loan po ako ng Salary. Tapos now mag loloan po ako ng Calamity hindi po ako makapag loan kasi may existing balance po sa Calamity ko na bayad na. Paano po gagawin ko para makapag loan po ako ng Calamity?

Paano po matatanggap ang SSS Calamity Loan assistance?
- Ang Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP) ay maaaring matanggap sa bank account na naka-register sa SSS gaya ng sumusunod:
- SSS UMID activated ATM
- Union Bank Quick Card
- PESONet Accredited Bank – currently, applicable to Union Bank Single Savings Account only (other banks are expected to become available on the following weeks and/or to our next advisory)
Paano ko po malalaman kung granted na ang aking SSS calamity loan application?
- Ang SSS benefit/loan at checks ay ineendorso sa PhilPost sa loob ng 3 hanggang 5 working days mula sa date of approval ng inyong applictation. Ito po ay maaari ninyong antabayanan sa inyong itinalagang mailing address sa inyong application sa loob ng 7-10 working days (if withing NCR) o 10-15 working days (if outside NCR) depende sa inyong lokasyon.
