What are the two types of SSS Disability Benefit?

Just like other SSS benefits, there are also two types of the disability benefit:

  1. Monthly pension is for members who has paid at least 36 monthly contributions before the application for the disability benefit
  2. Lumpsum amount is granted for those members who have not paid the 36 monthly contributions and for disability claims whose approve pension is 12 months

How do I know that I qualify?

It is important to get the specific and official qualification list about this particular SSS Disability Benefit.

It is also better to know if you qualify or not, before visiting the nearest SSS office branch near you, only to be turned away if you are not qualified.

Either way, knowing the qualifications will make everything easy and will save lots of time and effort.

That’s why here is the list of the qualifications that you must meet in order to apply for the benefit:

  1. YOU ARE A MEMBER OF SSS.
  2. You have suffered a partial or total disability.

How much will I get?

The amount that you will receive will depend on your number of paid monthly contributions and the years of membership prior to the filing of the application for the SSS disability Benefit.

There are three circumstances:

  1. The lowest pension is P 1,000 for members that have less than 10 years of credited years of service (CYS).
