When I was pregnant with my second child in 2022, I was excited to file for SSS Maternity Benefit and decided to use the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module for a more convenient way of receiving my benefits.
However, I encountered some difficulties as my application was rejected three times. It was frustrating, but I didn’t give up. I persisted and finally got approved, but it took two months after I gave birth to receive my SSS Benefit.
In this article, I’ll share my experience with the SSS DAEM and provide valuable tips to help expectant mothers avoid the same mistakes I made, so they can receive their benefits conveniently and on time.
What is SSS DAEM
The SSS Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM) is a feature in the My.SSS portal that allows employers and members to enroll their bank accounts for the direct crediting of SSS benefits and loan proceeds.
This feature is secure and convenient since it eliminates the need to visit an SSS branch. All you need to do is link your preferred bank account or e-wallet with your My.SSS profile and wait for the funds to be credited directly.
How to Enroll in the SSS DAEM
Enrolling in SSS DAEM is quite simple. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Step 1. Log in to your My.SSS account. Enter your User ID and Password, tick “I’m not a robot”, and click Submit.
Step 2. Click E-Services tab > Disbursement Modules > Disbursement Account Enrollment Module
Step 3. Read the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module. Tick “I certify that I have read and understood the foregoing reminders on account enrollment.” Click Proceed.
Step 4. Under the Enrollment tab, choose among the two enrollment options:
- Bank
- E-Wallet / RTC / CPO
If you choose “Bank”, a note will be displayed on the screen that says,
The Bank Account Name should be the SAME as your SSS registered name. Please provide the correct Bank Account number and NOT the ATM card number. You may contact your bank to secure the correct account number.
After reading the note, click the “x” button at the upper right corner to close the box.
Choose your bank from the dropdown menu, then provide the information required in the module, such as Bank Account Number.

My DAEM Experience
I gave birth to my second child in July 2022. On August 5, I tried complying with DAEM so that I can avail myself of the SSS Maternity Benefit.
However, it was rejected. I tried again on August 18 and September 16, but they were rejected again.
Why was my disbursement account enrollment rejected 3 times?
Well, because of my Selfie Photo. It says that the proof of account submitted for Bank/E-Wallet Account in Selfie or Photo is not the same as the uploaded proof of account.
I carefully followed all the instructions, but I didn’t know why it was always rejected.
After my third application, I sent an email to SSS informing them of my concern.
I didn’t receive a response from SSS, but on October 5, I finally received the good news that my SSS Maternity Benefit Application has been approved.
On why I only received Php 35,000 instead of the maximum SSS Maternity Benefit of Php 70,000, I’ll tell you more about it in a separate post.
My #1 Tip for Faster Disbursement Account Enrollment
Make sure your name and bank account number on your selfie photo are clear.
During my first two applications, I was holding my valid ID, a BPI ATM card with my name on it, and a screenshot of my BPI account number on my cellphone. It was rejected.
So, on my third application, instead of showing a screenshot of my BPI account number on my cellphone, this time I used an IPAD. The account number was clear and visible, and I think this was the reason why it was finally approved.
I don’t know if that was a case-to-case basis, but that was my experience, and I’m glad it finally worked for me.
Feel free to share your DAEM experience in the comments too!
